TIME COMMONS · CURATE

Makers of
Tomorrow

International Open Call · Research · Collaboration

Makers of Tomorrow is a long-term curatorial and research programme by Time Commons, seeking practitioners who open new ways of understanding and shaping everyday life.

Our starting points are the spaces we inhabit, the objects we live with, and the ideas through which we understand everyday experience. A spatial proposal, a material experiment or a critical essay may each offer a way to reconsider something familiar. Thought and curatorial research have a place in their own right.

The programme welcomes practitioners across disciplines, generations and career stages.

Taking a practice further

Our first international open call is in development. It will seek out work for recognition and public discussion, with the possibility of further collaboration.

We are interested in completed work and in practices already underway whose next step remains unresolved. A prototype may need testing; a research project may need new sources or a sustained critical exchange. Understanding what would help the work continue is part of our curatorial inquiry.

Time Commons brings experience in research on practitioners, interviews and curating, together with bilingual editorial work. Residency accommodation is available at Maison Beausoleil. Depending on the project, collaboration may develop through research, making and testing, or public presentation and publication. Arrangements will be agreed individually, according to the work and the conditions available.

Developing the programme together

We welcome conversations with practitioners and institutions while the first edition takes shape.

An institution might introduce work that deserves wider attention, bring a question from its own research, or explore a joint project with a practitioner. Such collaborations offer a way to encounter work beyond familiar professional circles and pursue questions that neither organisation could fully explore alone.

You can also help us examine what makes an open call worth taking part in, drawing on experience of what has helped a practice develop.

Start a conversation

Introduce a practice, recommend someone whose work we should know, or suggest a question we could pursue together. A short introduction and a relevant link are enough to begin.
